We know full well that for many, the dentists’ office can be a very intimidating place. The types of instruments used, the sounds, the impersonal masks, and the confusing dental terms and procedures can be overwhelming to some.  Might there be a way for you to eliminate the anxiousness, fear, and stress? There is! Dr. Raskin, Dr. D’Orlando, and Dr. Thomas are certified to perform conscious IV Sedation. Now, patients can peacefully drift through their procedures without a care in the world. Not only do most patients feel no pain, but they have no memory of the procedure, and walk away like nothing ever happened.

Who are Candidates for Sedation?

Adults who have:

  • High fear of dental visits
  • Previous traumatic dental experiences
  • Difficulty getting numb
  • A bad gag reflex
  • Very sensitive teeth
  • Limited time to complete their dental care
  • Complex dental problems

Will I feel pain?

Most patients feel no discomfort whatsoever during their treatment and feel surprisingly good afterwards. There may only be a mild discomfort when the sedation is administered, but this can be reduced through the use of a local anesthetic.

Will I be awake?

You’ll receive just enough sedation so that you’ll be completely unaware of the treatment, as you would if you were asleep.

Will I remember it?

At the end of the treatment, you’ll have little or no memory of your dental visit.

Will I be groggy after?

You will feel just fine. For your safety, we do require that you have a family member or friend drive you home. Some patients may experience mild nausea, but this usually passes quickly.

Is insurance accepted?

We’ll review your insurance coverage and, if necessary, make financial arrangements to ensure you get the dental care you need.

Is it safe for me?

Before starting any treatment, we review your medical history, and we monitor you very closely while you’re under sedation.
